High Reach Company, the best privately owned aerial equipment rental company in Florida, is looking to hire an experienced safety minded Diesel Truck Mechanic for our Tampa, Florida branch. This position is for an individual who is organized and capable of assessing and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment. This individual will be an active member of our team, including safety awareness, vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance and regulations.

Diesel Truck Mechanic must have Heavy Duty Diesel experience, Class 7 truck experience and preferable ASE certified/master certified. Additional certification for Freightliner, Cummins, CAT, International, Volvo, Hino, Ford/Chevy Heavy Trucks, etc. is highly preferred. Diesel Truck Mechanic job in Tampa

Diesel Truck Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance
  • Federal DOT Inspections
  • Troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems

Diesel Truck Mechanic Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience preferred
  • Familiar with Cummins, International and Mercedes engines 2003 and newer
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes up to 75lbs
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and other government safety rules and regulations
  • CDL Class A Driver's License
  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trucks and trailer equipment
  • Identify warrantable repairs and documents on repair orders
  • Inspect brake system, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they're in proper operating condition
  • Knowledge of air brake systems and components
  • Preform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Diesel Truck Mechanic must maintain thorough maintenance records
  • Road Test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
  • Perform duties with little to no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
  • Communicate professionally with team members and supervisors
  • Diesel Truck Mechanic must provide own tools
  • Able to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instructions as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists
